Cavi took a deep breath. She was nervous about whether she had done this report correctly and she didn't want it to be looked over, under Spock's hard glare. He would undoubtedly find something wrong with it, since he was 'perfect', or so she had heard. He didn't make mistakes, nor was he very kind toward the humans which made the mistakes. Spock was a tough commanding officer, but she knew that was one of the reasons the Enterprise ran as well as she did. This ship was supposed to have one of the best crews in the whole fleet. She was proud to have made it aboard.
The turkish girl's uniform was on, though she wasn't on her shift. The blue material clung to her body almost uncomfortably, but she paid it no mind as she flipped her dark hair over a shoulder to look around the hallway. Cavi didn't have any makeup on, save for the base she used to make sure her skin tone was even, free of any red spots.
With the report in hand, she carefully looked around the corridor. Her superior officers weren't around, so she figured he might be able to go chill out in the rec room for a little bit, working up the nerve to hand Spock the document. So she turned around and slipped into the rec room.
It wasn't too full, since many people were on duty and those who weren't were sleeping. Her shift started in just an hour, so she had time before Spock needed the report anyway. Cavi dropped her report off on a table before going to grab a cup of coffee from the little machine implanted into the wall. With the hot cup in tow, she sat back down and relaxed with a small smile.

Nyota Uhura entered the rec room with a book tucked under her arm, dressed down in a pair of pajama pants and an academy t-shirt. Her long hair wasn't up in the brain splitting ponytail as was her usual style, but instead she had let it down and braided it to fall over her shoulder neatly. She stifled a yawn, having been on the bridge most of her day. Now she was just getting off duty and after a quick shower - she smiled at the whisp of a wishign thought that her water were chilly - she changed into something more comfy and less revealing than the regulation uniform minidress.
Rubbing a bit of sleep from her eye she stood in the two person line for coffee, and after a moment got a steaming mug of the delicious brew before taking a seat near the girl that had been in line in front of her. She eyed her over the mug, and saw that she was wearing a blue uniform. That must have meant she worked under Spock.
Nyota saw a worried, or was it perplexed lok ont he girl's face and decided to see if she could join her. After all, her shift and Spock's had been switched for the day and she didn't have anyone for company. She didn't want to bother Bones in sickbay and she'd had enough of Kirk on the bridge. How sad that she had no other friends.
"Hi. Mind if I join you?" she asked with a pleasant smile, indicating the seat across from the girl at the table,"I'm Uhura if you didn't already know, but I'm afraid I don't know your name."

Cavi looked up from her paper as the lieutenant asked if she could sit down at the table. She nodded, pulling back the paper from the center of the small table, taking another sip of coffee as Uhura introduced herself. Everyone on the ship should have known who Uhura was, especially since the rumors were going around that she was actually in a relationship with Spock. It made Cavi sad that Uhura would put herself through that, being with someone who couldn't laugh with you or comfort you in a time of need. But it wasn't any of her business, so she wouldn't bring it up.
The ensign set her glass on the table, reaching a hand out to Uhura for a shake. "I'm Cavi Yilmaz, science ensign." She grinned, happy to see that Uhura was such a nice person. The report was pushed aside, her cup of coffee nearly missing it as it was sat down on the table. It was only natural that Uhura wouldn't know who she was; it wasn't as if Spock even knew who she was. Cavi's glance at the report made her frown slightly. Surely, if Spock were in a relationship with someone like the communications chief, he wouldn't be such a cold-hearted guy, right?
"I'm just here to try to relax before my shift." Cavi smiled, noting that the Swahili woman across from her must have just gotten off her shift, since she was dressed comfortably.

Uhura smiled gently as she took a seat and put her book down on the table, placing her hand between the pages, she grabbed a napkin and folded it, tucking it in to save her place. She'd forgotten her bookmark in her room and was one of those people who got anal about dog-eared pages or books left open facedown on a table. It ruined the spine.
She nursed the steaming mug of coffee for a moment as Cavi spoke and introduced herself, holding out her free hand to shake as well with a small smile over the rim of her cup.
"Ah, if your uniform hadn't given it away then your introduction would have. So, what's it like working under my marble statue of a boyfriend?" she asked, trying not to grin at what her words could have been twisted to, as she knew precisely what it was like 'working under' Spock. "He's not too hard on you and the others is he? If he is just let me know and I'll pop him one." she joked, feeling at ease with the girl.
There weren't many women onboard that she felt any commraderie with. Most of her friends were men, or at least those close enough to really be called her good friends: Spock, Bones, Scotty, Chekhov, Sulu, and even her captain. The other women tended to steer clear of her, thinking she would have to be cold and bitchy to be able to 'put up with' Spock and his emotions. Or rather the lackthereof.
She sighed slightly and then nodded when she realized she'd added somethign about going on shift, "Hm. I'd wondered if you were about to go on shift, or if you were just getting off as I am and simply hadn't had the time to change yet."

The carefree, joking expression made Cavi widen her eyes in surprise. Her marble statue of a boyfriend? It was true, to say the least, but Cavi hadn't expected her to be so free about it. "I'm not sure if he's too hard on us...i really only just began my work and i don't know really what he's like. I've only heard rumors," she admitted. the report came into her line of view as Uhura mentioned Spock. "I do have to turn this report into Mr. Spock today though, as soon as i go on shift, and I'm worried he won't think it's good enough." A blush crept onto her face as she admitted this to Nyota. Hopefully she wouldn't think she was too timid or paranoid; Cavi just wanted to do well in her field.
Cavi took another sip of her coffee before setting it back down as she felt the hot water nearly burn her lip. This coffee was always too hot for her taste, but it wasn't something she could change. Her job was to assist Mr. Spock. Perhaps Uhura could give her some insight to the things she should and shouldn't do. "Are there certain things that Mr. Spock doesn't like?" Cavi asked. "Like...clumsiness, perhaps? Since he's Vulcan he has to be far sturdier than Humans..."
