sexuality: Character is uncertain; leaning more towards Heterosexual.
marital status: Single
appearance:
S’Talon appears average for a Romulan of his age. His skin is a light green hue, his face appearing chiseled, with ridges forming a v-shape on his forehead. His eyebrows are upswept, and his eyes are a dark brown colour nearing black. He sports a non-prominent nose and average lips. His black hair is cut in the traditional style, short and flat to his head. From the sides of his head stick two pointed ears. His body is well-built, but slender for a Romulan, and, since no uniform is currently required of him given his situation, he dresses himself in a medium-gray shirt, dark gray pants, and a black coat. He has several knives hidden on his person, as well as a Romulan disruptor.

personality:
The young Romulan is skilled in keeping his emotions in check; he knows what will happen if they dare hinder him. S’Talon is very observant, and very attentive. Unless he feels the need to talk (or it is required) he is generally silent. He has difficulty in communicating with others, especially since he fears a disaster will result from it. When he does speak, he is usually to the point, and tends to bypass this fear of social disaster to speak his mind on things. He is not quick to anger, and when spoken angrily to, he usually keeps his cool. Whenever he is under the command of someone, he will follow their orders, but is not afraid to urge the commander to reconsider if it is a poor decision. However, when he is perceived as a weakling, he quickly becomes agitated. When someone outright calls him weak, he may lash out at them reflexively. He also detests being confused, especially purposely.
Interestingly, however, S’Talon is likely to be more impressed than annoyed if he is deceived. He can only, currently speak Romulan (if translators/ways to overcome this don’t exist, I can edit it) but were it necessary, he would aspire to learn other languages. Due to being outcast, he dislikes the Romulan Star Empire. He hates his family, his father most of all. He believes that his “dishonour" is his father’s fault. He is uncomfortable around other species and cultures, but hopes he can overcome the boundaries as long as they are willing. Still, the occasional slipouts may keep these metaphorical barriers raised. When trying to learn from others, he may pick up their phrases and accents.

all that is behind us
all that is behind us
history:
S’Talon’s father and the Head of their House, Terok, was a ruthless and sadistic man with a torture fetish. Of course, he did not torture Romulans, but reveled in torturing “lesser species,” especially females. He satisfied this fetish less when he found the love of his life, S’Talon’s mother, whom he married, and together they conceived a young Romulan male that would be the pride of his father, and his heir. Or thus, Terok hoped. The result of their union, he was branded at birth with the House symbol, and schooled as an average Romulan child would be. His life seemed to be normal from here, though his father pressed his own views harder on the boy than it was wise to; as is the nature of some sentient beings, the youth began to mentally reject his father’s teachings.
These sentiments were made obvious when he found his father beating an alien female he had had in his possession. When he saw his son watching, a look of terror on the youth’s face, he beckoned him over, and tried to get him to join in on the “fun.” S’Talon, going against his people’s nature, felt sorry for the poor creature, not knowing why he did, and refused to do so. Terok grew angry, and beat the boy. He felt that S’Talon would after that, submit to his ways and then redeem himself in his eyes, but no; he did not know it yet, but he had created an enemy in the young Romulan, for every time his father struck him, he grew more hateful towards him. Things did not return to normal afterwards; his father would continue to lecture to his deaf ears, and now, S’Talon could not focus on his studies.
Finally, his father decided enough was enough, and that S’Talon did not deserve to be his son, or a part of their House. He beat the boy again, and banished him from the House. S’Talon was forced to either seek a new life, or end as low as dirt, honourless and helpless. He decided he wanted to leave Romulus; he did not belong or feel welcome here. He wanted to leave quietly and peacefully, perhaps even honourably. He deceived (yes, indeed; it contradicts what I just said, but seems the Romulan way) a fellow Romulan into taking his ship, and disappeared into warp. However, he was followed; a Tal Shiar had tracked him down after being tipped off...
parents: His father's name is Terok Tal'Aura. I haven't thought up a name for his mother yet.
