& I WAKE UP EVERY EVENING WITH A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE ( and it never seems out of place ) Entering the Rec room Christine let out a sigh she loved everything about the ship, especially the Doctor he was so fun to be around, and honestly the first person in years who understood her humor...she also couldn't stop thinking of the first officer Spock, how nothing emotional really affected him it really amazed her how different he was it was like trying to reach for something she couldn't have and it was quite satisfying, and then there was the captain...he was so rude to her calling her Kristen like he meant to do that...like he wanted to get on her nerves and he was always making fun of her.
Sitting at a spare table she was the only one in the room, she had asked the doctor to make her breaks when the other crew members were still working...she just wasn't very social and she didn't want people talking to her or trying to get to know her. She was never popular like Uhura or the Captain but she wasn't hated either being in the middle was almost worse. People could easily overlook her and most of the time they did.
She was wearing something quite simple like usual she was never one to dress girly do her hair up nice or any of that junk instead she had on a pair of jeans a cotton gray henley and a very high black undershirt over top of that she had a leather jacket on she got cold easily and she didn't want to be freezing on her break her hair was down which really no one saw. All in all everyone would say she looked boring especially the captain he didn't have the joys of seeing her the way she was with Bones so he always had the impression she was boring.
Opening her book she started to read keeping a straight face, although paper books were not common throughout the ship she still liked them, she liked to preserve history and it was much lighter to carry around paper than to carry around a computer. Briskly turning her pages she was a fast reader but she normally chose books that logically challenged her books Spock would probably be found reading. Hearing the door open her straight face turned to a frown, she really didn't want to deal with people. Now that his shift was over, Kirk decided it was the time for some downtime. He changed into something more comfortable – jeans and a black shirt, because...well, he just liked them – and headed down to the rec room. He liked to mingle with his people. He didn’t like seeming unapproachable or anything like that.
The first thing he did was go to the Replicator, and order something to munch on. He decided on two hot dogs, some chili, and a glass of beer. He had decided to go simple and with what he liked, and you couldn’t go wrong with hot dogs. The beer, of course, had been made with synthehol, thus it tasted like beer, but wouldn’t give him the effects of the alcohol. The last thing he needed was to start singing or acting crazy, or something, in front of the people in there.
The rec room was pretty full, and the people were pretty much at ease despite his presence, because they knew he regularly perused the facilities and was very easy-going, especially now that everyone here was off-duty. The tables were pretty much filled, save for one, where a beautiful blond-haired woman sat. Of course, Kirk had met “Kristen” – as he liked to call her just to get on her nerves – and he had to admit – to himself of course – he had a crush on her, but not wanting to commit lest another lass enchant him, he hid it cleverly behind a mask.
He sat down at the table, grinning and not even asking her if he could sit there. The answer was already obviously yes; the place was nearly full, after all. And besides, it might be a chance to really know her. He hadn’t noticed that she liked books made of paper. Those were a rarity in this day and age. “Hey,” he said, tilting his head so that he could see the title.
((OOC: Sorry it took so long. Not used to this manner of RPing. ^_^ That, and I’m trying to get into character. This is my first time RPing Kirk. If you wouldn’t mind, please tell me the title of the book...that way, I can have Kirk make fun of it, perhaps. Though, of course, he’s being playful with his teasing...my Kirk muse doesn’t want to be outright rude)).

Lifting her head she saw the Captain she really wanted to role her eyes but that would be disrespectful. Putting her book down it was A Brief History in Time although the book for her was quite easy to understand it made her feel better to read a fairly easy book. Her eyes narrowed, why did he want to sit by her? She wasn't anything special and then seeing as the room was packed she understood...he just needed a place to sit.
"What are you doing over here Kirk?" She asked a bit bluntly. "It's not like you want to become friends overnight." Sighing it was a matter of minutes before he called her Kristen. Running her hands through her smooth blonde hair she always did this when under stress or when she was anxious or possibly nervous in all honesty it was a bit of all three.
Kirk and her were never on 'friendly' terms but they weren't on hate terms he was just way different from her he was a social butterfly and could get laid whenever his little hearts desire and here she was little Miss Chris Chapel having lost her virginity at age twenty one she had not done it since and she was a social loser anybody could tell when they walked in the room she was the only one sitting alone...that was until the Captain decided to sit here.
Although a little part of her she didn't know which part found him a bit attractive well what woman didn't? But obviously by the way he treated her he wasn't interested and neither was she...she had feelings for some other individual by the letters S-P-O-C-K.
